The Eastside is a gin-based drink made with fresh cucumber and mint, lime juice, and simple syrup, created by George Delgado in 2004 in New York City.

Ingredients

2 oz / 50 ml 3 oz / 75 ml 4 oz / 100 ml 6 oz / 150 ml Gin Hendricks or Martin Millers
1 oz / 25 ml 1.5 oz / 37.5 ml 2 oz / 50 ml 3 oz / 75 ml Fresh Lime Juice  
3/4 oz / 136.5 ml 6 oz / 205 ml 8 oz / 273.5 ml 12 oz / 410 ml Simple Syrup  
2-3 slices Cucumber  
5 leaves Mint  

Notes

  • Method: Shaken
  • Pour: Double Strain
  • Glassware: Coupe
  • Garnish: Mint leaf or a slice of Cucumber
  • Special Prep: Start by adding your gin, lime and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker then drop in 2-3 cucumber slices and firmly muddle into the liquid. Once muddled, and 6 mint leaves and lightly crush them with your muddler. Add ice, shake for 10 seconds, and double strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Finish it off with a cool cucumber garnish, or drop in a floating mint leaf.
