The New York sour recipe adds red wine to the classic whiskey sour cocktail for a playful and fruity twist on a household favorite.

0.75 oz / 19 ml 1.125 oz / 28 ml 1.5 oz / 37.5 ml 2.25 oz / 56.5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice  
0.5 oz / 18.5 ml 0.75 oz / 27.5 ml 1 oz / 36.5 ml 1.5 oz / 55 ml Rich Demerara Syrup  
0.5 oz / 12.5 ml 0.75 oz / 19 ml 1 oz / 25 ml 1.5 oz / 37.5 ml Egg White  
0.75 oz / 19 ml 1.125 oz / 28 ml 1.5 oz / 37.5 ml 2.25 oz / 56.5 ml Red Wine  

Notes

  • Method: Shaken
  • Pour: Double Strain
  • Glassware: Coupe
  • Garnish: None
  • Special Prep: Add all the ingredients to a shaking tin, except the red wine. For best results in texture, dry shake (shake without ice) before chilling to agitate either the egg white. Float the red wine on top of the cocktail. Lemon oil (optional).
