Sazerac

The Sazerac is a local variation of a cognac or whiskey cocktail originally from New Orleans, named for the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac brandy.

0.25 oz / 9 ml 0.375 oz / 14 ml 0.5 oz / 18.5 ml 0.75 oz / 27.5 ml Semi-rich Simple Syrup  
3 dashes Bitters Peychaud’s
1 dash Bitters Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 rinse Absinthe Nouvelle Orleans Absinthe Superieure

  • Method: Stirred
  • Pour: Julep Strain
  • Glassware: Low Ball
  • Garnish: Lemon zest
  • Special Prep: Rinse the glass with absinthe. Strain in cocktail. Express lemon oil on the drink.
