The Suffering Bastard cocktail uses both bourbon and gin. Born in Cairo, it was originally concocted for troops fighting in North Africa.

0.25 oz / 9 ml 0.375 oz / 14 ml 0.5 oz / 18.5 ml 0.75 oz / 27.5 ml Rich Demerara Syrup  
2 to 3 dashes Bitters Angostura Aromatic Bitters
3 oz / 75 ml 4.5 oz / 112.5 ml 6 oz / 150 ml 9 oz / 225 ml Ginger Beer Fever Tree

  • Glassware:
    • High Ball
    • On the rocks
  • Garnish: Mint sprig and orange slice
  • Special Prep: Pour the ginger beer into the glass while pouring the cocktail.
