Ingredients

  • 1 c / 227 g butter
  • 1 c / 200 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 c / 140 g poppy seeds
  • 2 1/4 c / 270 g flour
  • 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t mace (or nutmeg)
  • 1/4 t / 2 g salt

Poppy Seed Cookies

Method

  1. Combine into smooth dough.
  2. Divide dough in half and form log.
  3. Roll in more sugar.
  4. Chill for 1 hour.
  5. Slice into ¼ inch rounds, place on cookie sheet and bake 10-12 min in 325F oven.
