Ingredients

  • 0.5 onion

  • 1.5 stalks celery

  • 1.5 carrots

  • 1 cloves garlic

  • 0.5 lb / 227 g split peas

  • 1 bay leaves

  • 0.25 t thyme

  • 0.5 meaty ham bone

  • 2 c / 454 g chicken stock

  • 1.5 c / 341 g water

  • 0.5 c diced ham

Method

  1. Cut vegetables into bitesize pieces
  2. Saute vegetables till soft
  3. Add peas, ham and liquid
  4. Simmer 1 hour
  5. Add the ham and heat through
