Ingredients

  • 2 onion

  • 6 stalks celery

  • 6 carrots

  • 4 cloves garlic

  • 2 lb / 908 g split peas

  • 4 bay leaves

  • 1 t thyme

  • 2 meaty ham bone

  • 8 c / 1816 g chicken stock

  • 6 c / 1362 g water

  • 2 c diced ham

Method

  1. Cut vegetables into bitesize pieces
  2. Saute vegetables till soft
  3. Add peas, ham and liquid
  4. Simmer 1 hour
  5. Add the ham and heat through
