Ingredients

  • 3 onion

  • 9 stalks celery

  • 9 carrots

  • 6 cloves garlic

  • 3 lb / 1362 g split peas

  • 6 bay leaves

  • 1.5 t thyme

  • 3 meaty ham bone

  • 12 c / 2724 g chicken stock

  • 9 c / 2043 g water

  • 3 c diced ham

Method

  1. Cut vegetables into bitesize pieces
  2. Saute vegetables till soft
  3. Add peas, ham and liquid
  4. Simmer 1 hour
  5. Add the ham and heat through
