Ingredients

  • 4 onion

  • 12 stalks celery

  • 12 carrots

  • 8 cloves garlic

  • 4 lb / 1816 g split peas

  • 8 bay leaves

  • 2 t thyme

  • 4 meaty ham bone

  • 16 c / 3632 g chicken stock

  • 12 c / 2724 g water

  • 4 c diced ham

Method

  1. Cut vegetables into bitesize pieces
  2. Saute vegetables till soft
  3. Add peas, ham and liquid
  4. Simmer 1 hour
  5. Add the ham and heat through
