Ingredients
- 1 c butter (226 g)
- 2 c sugar (212 g)
- 3 eggs
- 2 t vanilla
- 2 t cream of tartar
- 1 t baking soda
- 3 c flour (125g per cup)
Method
Cream sugar and butter.
Add eggs one by one, then rest of ingredients slowly.
Refrigerate 4 hours.
Work quickly with dough, not too much flour, keeping non-working dough in the freezer.
Bake for about 10 min at 375F oven.
Substitutions
- Cream of Tartar - 3 times the amount in lemon juice or vinegar (but remember to add more flour to compensate for extra moisture)
- Baking Soda for Powder - 1t powder equals 1/4 t baking soda
