A collection of cookie recipes that includes both traditional favourites and modern variations.

  • Kipfel (Pecan/Almond Crescents)
This is a German Christmas classic that we also had in Wisconsin.
  • Poppy Seed Cookies
This one is a bit of a love or hate. If you don't like the taste of poppy seeds, you likely will not like this cookie.
  • River Cottage Shortbread
    Really lovely delicate shortbread cookies.
  • Rum Balls
These are very simple and very moorish. And, get good rum, it makes a big difference.
  • Sugar Cookies
At first, this dough is hard to work with, so fold in a bit of flour. And make sure you get the dough very, very cold and keep it cold between batches
  • Swedish Cardamom Christmas Cookies
We wanted to find new Christmas cookies, and these were immediately a winner.
  • Swedish Cookies with Jam
This is our boy's favourite. We usually use raspberry and apricot jellies to get a contrast of colours.
  • Toll House Cookies
I only have typed this up because you can't buy the Chocolate in the UK.
